3 Leveling / PvE

Rangers are currently one of the better solo leveling classes in Hibernia.  Archery allows a Ranger to easily kill blue, yellow and orange monsters with very little difficulty.  Many times the monster will be dead before it even makes it to you.  Generally the best strategy is to keep Archery equal to your level and pull with an initial fire/cold shot followed by standard shots until the monster is close enough for a point blank shot.

3.a Spec Progression

The only question is, do you want to go through the battlegrounds, or not?  If you do not go through the battlegrounds then points can be saved on stealth until the very end.  This allows you to have good melee capabilities, just in case something makes it to you.  With that in mind I will assume you intend to go through the battlegrounds and need to spend some points on stealth.

Level 24
Stealth: 18
Weapon: 16
Archery: 24
Celtic Dual: 1

This will allow you to have the best archery damage, which is actually quite good in the battlegrounds, and still do well in melee.

Level 39
Stealth: 33
Weapon: 12
Archery: 39
Celtic Dual: 18

18 Celtic Dual will grant the ice storm style, which will be a great help in getting away from an enemy, or when grouping.  Again, 39 archery will allow for excellent archery damage, and stealth is still high enough that you shouldn’t have problems with being seen.

If you do not wish to go into the battlegrounds, just take the points out of stealth and put them into either weapon or celtic dual.  Either way, while leveling up you should be able to level very quickly.

3.b Places to Level

Until around level 18 when you can move out into the frontiers the best places are going to be, task dungeons, muire tomb, and right around ardee.  After level 18 many new places open up to you.

1 – 50 – Task dungeons.  You can always get good steady experience from these.
18 – 50 – Darkness Falls.  Often has a good camp bonus.
18 – 30 – Behind the relic gates at Druim Cain.  There are several camps back here that can easily get you up to around 30.
18 – 25 – Spraggon Den.  Depending on camp bonuses and any other bonuses Mythic has put in, spraggon den can sometimes be very good.

46+ Dragon Minions: Ailine, Nged and Renaris are some good locations for these.
48+ Ailine Bears, Cursed Forest, Coruscating Mines, Dragon Zone/Slayer quests
